If anyone has tried to call us lately you would find no one is answering the phone! We confess that we have been putting it on silent. You think this is bad business? Of course this is all great things and we are so blessed to do what we do. On the product front we have the Robin bike that is being manufactured as we speak and should be available to the public in a month. There are many other products that we are moving towards including electric motorized bikes and hybrid bike systems.
After spending some time in Temecula we have decided to uproot and go back to Santa Cruz CA. We finally got a great retail space with a shop in the back with lots of room to expand. Exciting things are happening and we are always looking forward to find the ultimate answer in providing fun transportation that doesnt rely on the expected.

Being in the business for a few years now has opened our eyes (Helio) to the miscellaneous products that are currently offered to the public to power up bikes. There are companies that have done great things for the motorized biking community and we continue to carry and promote their products. As time goes on there is more interest all over the world for fun, economic and green ways to transport and we are just trying to stay ahead of the demand. Several great companies have pioneered and supplied the motorized bike in the states and Helio is greatly inspired by their continued openness and excitement for the future. Helio feels like this niche market is about to explode due to the economy and many other social reasons and as a result, has been working on this custom “top of the line” bike for a long time. There are several reasons why we built this bike. Mostly had to do with the quality that we have seen coming from overseas and the need for an improved product. Helio has taken steps to improve the chinese product to insure a longer life and better install but we felt that a whole new design would be even better. We teamed up with a few USA companies to get a whole new power-train setup. The heart of our setup is a Subaru Robin EH035(factory 3 year warranty, EPA and CARB approved,200mpg+) , New gear box (lifetime warranty), and rear custom 12G wheel with double freewheels and 4 sealed highspeed bearings (lifetime warranty). All these components are mounted to a frame with a welded motor mount and custom tank located below it. This design allows the tank to be on the bottom and be out of the way of your legs. There are many other upgrades that are included such as billet throttle and front hydraulic disc brake mounted on front suspension forks! Helio’s new Robin Project gas motorized bike is in its ending stages of prototype and we are beginning our electric powered bicycle. Some of the drivetrain technology will be shared by the new 200+ mpg robin project. Essentially, we are adapting an autoshift system to both our gas and electric bikes. There will be no hill too big for your bike! The Helio “ E-Motion“ will have a fully enclosed power system protected by an alarm! Utilizing a 500-960 watt motor and a 36volt lithium battery, we hope to hit 30mph with a range of 35 miles. The auto-shift technology will allow the rider to just throttle, go and enjoy. Climbing hills or trails will be a cinch and the acceleration will be available throughout the powerband. Stay tuned for news and pictures of both the Robin and the ultimate ebike.
There are numerous reasons to invest in a good, well made, motorized bike. In this blog I will get into some of them so that you, the customer, can weigh the value.
1. Fuel Consumption- Since a motorized bicycle runs a small motor (48-80cc), the amount of gas it takes to operate is minimal. We are seeing 120+mpg from the 2 stroke and up to 160+ mpg for the 4 stroke! Our new Subaru Robin design that is being released soon will break the 200+mpg mark. If you do the math that is 5-6 times cheaper than your average car ($100 dollars in gas turns into $18-20). If you have a small commute to work, store, or friends house, the value will add up quickly and your bike can pay for itself within a year.
2. ECO (Going Green)- The less fuel we use, the less pollutants in the air as well consumption. These motors run clean, are small and keep your carbon footprint minimal.
3. Avoid crazy fees- Stay in the bike lane, wear a helmet, obey all traffic laws, stay under 30mph and you can save big money! You do not need to register or insure these bikes. That can save some people hundreds of dollars and long waits at the DMV. Make sure to purchase a very good lock though!
