Motorized Bike Perfection

Motorized Bike Perfection

What would Motorized Bike Perfection look like? We have been busy in the shop trying to accumulate all the knowledge we have soaked in throughout the years and put it to use. It makes sense that we would build something that stands tall above the rest to show what Helio bikes can do so we decided to go for it. Motorized bike perfection would have to be dependable, lightweight, powerful and comfortable. We are happy to introduce the Helio Supernatural. This bike is great and has a different futuristic look to it. Here are some specs and comments.

-Built in Gas tank Aluminum Frame – lightweight, no vibration noise or loosening of gas tank.

-Aluminum Mag Wheels – Sealed bearings roll forever, strong, 7 speed or single speed and look differently awesome

-Front Suspension and Hydraulic Disc brake. Increases comfort and will stop quickly. Most motorized bikes aren’t built for stopping. This makes no sense as danger increases as speed does. Do you want to have a coaster brake when going 35mph? This bike will stop!

-Honda Gxh50/EZM Pacesetter gearbox combo. This is such a great powertrain setup. The Honda motor is better in every way. Power, reliability etc. The EZM gearbox has a Clutch that is 4x the size of its chinese counterparts. This gearbox is built in the USA and is simple, effective and long-lasting.

-Custom CNC rear sprocket- No steel Chinese sprockets here! The Supernatural Honda includes a precision cut cnc aluminum 62T sprocket that keeps chain tension consistent and alignment correct.

-Billet Throttle- This Throttle is built of CNC aluminum and  has a bearing that insures precision throttle and will not break or twist through.

-Upgraded Ball Fuel Valve and filter that will insure that the motor will get fuel at all times. The stock Chinese valves are problematic and restrict fuel to the carburetor. We found this problem and have since started using new Helio Ball Valves.

There are too many details to list them all but you can purchase this Motorized Bike here

Stay safe and keep riding

What is a Gas Bike?

We have taken our gas bikes everywhere and I have noticed that there are a few questions that everyone seems to ask.

1. What is this Gas bike and is it legal? I smile and answer, yes its legal and we use epa approved low pollution 4 stroke motors on all of our bikes. When I tell them that they average 150 MPG, they are amazed! You see the 4 stroke motor is more balanced and tuned than the noisy 2 stroke. You don’t have to mix gas and worry about the motor losing power because of heat. We want our gas bikes to outshine the rest and not just be fun, but also a tool for the commuter. We use the optional Honda motor as an added bonus to reliability/dependability. The Gas bike owner should be confident that they are going to get where they need to go consistently.

2. How much are Helio Bikes? We try to have dependable models at a lower price range for people that cant afford our custom bikes. To answer the question, we have used gas bikes sometimes that start at $900 and custom models that can reach all the way up to $3000. Our median Superbike is around $1500. When you see the cost of gas/petrol and do the math, a gas bike is a solution. Not only are they just eco friendly awesome but they can save you money! Get your Gas Bike today!

2 Stroke vs. 4 Stroke Bicycle Motors

Helio Motorized Bicycles has received numerous questions on the 2 stroke motor versus the 4 stroke. Why should you go with the 4 stroke Motor Bike? What are the differences in power, weight, dependability, etc?

First of all lets all be honest here; the 2 stroke is a better looking motor when you look at it. Mostly because it is smaller and adheres to the lines of the bike more thus, making it look more like a mini motorcycle. That’s great and everything but there are more important things at stake like dependability.

Lets start with the 2 stroke. The main downfall of the 2 stroke is vibration and heat. The nature of the motor is very simple as there is no valves to let the gas in and exhaust out. These ports are built inside the motor casing so there is less moving parts but also less control. 2 stroke motors can produce a lot of power when tuned correctly but will always require a mechanical assistance when things rattle loose or burn up after 30 minutes of wide open throttle. And one more thing, lets face it, everyone hates mixing gas!

Moving onto the 4 stroke. We use Honda, and Heushang 4 stroke motors on all Helio bikes. The nature of the 4 stroke is more controlled as there are valves that control the inflow and outflow of the mixture/exhaust. The 4 stroke has more torque and is a lot more quiet. There is a oil reservoir so you do not have to add oil to your gas which means you can pull up to a gas station and pay the $2.00-3.00 USD to fill up ( good for about 75 miles). 4 strokes don’t heat up and you can pretty much ride them forever. The vibrations are less because the motor is more stable which makes for a more comfortable ride. Also we use an USA made gearbox built by EZM. The key component to this gearbox is the huge centrifugal(throttle and go) clutch that make your powertrain endure years of riding. The 4 stroke is just a more dependable setup hands down.

We at Helio have decided on 4 strokes only and will be no longer dealing with the 2 strokes at all. We will still provide parts but will not be producing any 2 stroke production bikes. Check out our new line of Honda powered motor bikes! We will continue to hone in on our bike line and always strive for the perfect motorbike!

Riding towards the European Standard

If you have ever jumped the pond, you would immediately see a change in how the natives transport. Being an American, I am used to large comfy sedans and large gas guzzling trucks. Everything is bigger in America and although this can be great and comfortable, there will be a time that we must really start paying attention to our lifestyle. Back in the day when I was a college student everyone would use their bikes as their means of transportation. It was great! Lots of friends stayed healthy and lean because of the physical effort it takes to ride a bike. It felt like Europe. There is no doubt that cars are getting more efficient and the USA is starting to pay attention to the glutinous ways of our wasteful vehicles, but this is only a reaction to the  raising gas prices and knowledge of diminishing Fossil Fuels. All this has made me realize that there is an opportunity to bring a renewed form of transportation to USA and soon, the world.

In 2009 Helio motorized bikes was envisioned when I was skating around the internet and  found that there are many types of motorized bicycles all over the world. I knew about the Whizzer but there was a new style of bike that was cheap and got 120+mpg. I was very interested so I bought different motorized kits and started to make an impact in my college town. First impressions of the 2 stroke Motorized Bicycles were CHEAP to say the least. Scientifically the nature of the 2 stroke motor is very rough.  Heat and vibration was the biggest issue of these motors. After 30 minutes of riding, your power would drop significantly due to heat and parts would start to fall off due to vibration. I was tired of dealing with these issues and almost dropped the whole business/project. Then I found what I really wanted: the 49cc four stroke motor. Not only is the 4 stroke motorized bicycle engine better, it is less noisy and more efficient. Once I found this, I was confident that I could make a business.

Today our motorized bikes are beginning to be the standard of a new movement. We have spent countless hours on new systems that WORK together to make a reliable 150-250 MPG machine. Lately we have introduced 2 new bikes to our lineup: The Subaru Robin Series and the Honda FX50. The big deal about these bikes is the Helio system. This system consists of an aluminum gas tank under the motor mount plate. This makes the ride more comfortable and the center of gravity lower. Also the Motor Plate is welded to the frame to ensure reliability. These bikes also come standard with front hydraulic disc brakes,  USA made gearbox and a custom rear wheel adapter to ensure concentricity and adjustability. Starting at $2299 these Motorized bikes are a way to get around your town or the city. The savings in fuel cost pays for the bike in 2 years or less! Europe here we come!
